What's always included

Every build, regardless of scope, ships with the full technical foundation. No tiers, no "pro" upgrade, no asterisks. This is the baseline.

Design & build

  • Custom design drawn from scratch for your business. No themes, no page builders, no template marketplaces. Every section, every spacing value, every type pairing is a decision, not a default.
  • Hand-coded semantic HTML5, modern CSS (custom properties, container queries, clamp-based fluid typography, native nesting), and vanilla ES6+ JavaScript only where genuinely needed. Zero framework overhead, zero jQuery, zero bundler tax.
  • Mobile-first responsive layout, tuned breakpoint by breakpoint from 320px up to ultrawide. Fluid gutters and fluid type so the site scales gracefully instead of snapping at media queries.
  • A signature moment: one considered interaction, layout break, or typographic detail that separates your site from the Squarespace crowd.
  • Micro-interactions on buttons, links and cards using compositor-safe properties (transform, opacity, clip-path) with proper easing curves, not browser defaults.
  • Full dark-mode audit where appropriate, with prefers-reduced-motion respected throughout.

Performance

  • Core Web Vitals targets: LCP under 2.5s, CLS under 0.1, INP under 200ms. Measured, not assumed.
  • Total page weight budget under 500KB including hero imagery.
  • Images encoded as WebP (AVIF where supported) with responsive srcset, art-directed <picture> sources for mobile crops, and fetchpriority="high" on the hero.
  • Fonts self-hosted as subsetted WOFF2, preloaded above the fold, with metric-adjusted fallback @font-face declarations to eliminate layout shift.
  • Critical CSS inlined, non-critical CSS deferred. No render-blocking third-party scripts unless you explicitly ask for one.
  • Vercel edge hosting on a UK-adjacent POP with HTTP/2, Brotli compression and immutable asset caching.

SEO foundation

  • Complete on-page SEO: unique title tag and meta description per page (under 60 and 155 characters respectively), canonical URLs, Open Graph, Twitter Card, Dublin Core where useful, and geo meta tags (geo.region, geo.placename, geo.position, ICBM).
  • Structured data as a consolidated JSON-LD @graph: LocalBusiness (or the most specific @type for your trade), Person for the founder, WebSite, WebPage, BreadcrumbList, Service, Offer, FAQPage where relevant. Everything cross-referenced with stable @id anchors so Google can build a coherent entity graph.
  • sitemap.xml generated with image extensions and hreflang, robots.txt tuned to allow legitimate crawlers and block scrapers, and IndexNow submission to Bing, Yandex, Seznam and Naver on every deploy.
  • Google Business Profile audit and rewrite, NAP (name/address/phone) consistency checks across your existing citations, and submission to priority UK directories (Yell, FreeIndex, Thomson Local, Bark, Cylex).
  • Alt text on every image, logical heading hierarchy, internal link architecture that builds topical authority instead of flattening it.
  • 301 redirects from every old URL if we're rebuilding, so no SEO equity leaks during migration.

Accessibility

  • WCAG 2.1 AA as the minimum bar: 4.5:1 text contrast, 3:1 UI contrast, visible focus indicators at 2px minimum, keyboard navigation throughout, skip-to-content link, form labels connected properly, error states in text not just colour.
  • Semantic HTML first, ARIA only where native elements can't express the intent.
  • Tested at 200% zoom with no horizontal scroll at 320px width.

Security & infrastructure

  • SSL with HSTS preload, strict Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy and Permissions-Policy headers.
  • Custom domain setup, email forwarding, DNS management, and a 24-hour backup policy.
  • Uptime monitoring with email alert if the site ever goes down (it won't, but the alert stands).

Integrations

  • Booking systems wired in properly: Cliniko, Calendly, Acuity, Jane, Fresha, Setmore, or your existing platform embedded without breaking the page speed.
  • Contact form backends with spam protection and structured email delivery straight to your inbox.
  • E-commerce where you need it: Stripe payment links, product catalogues, cart, inventory and order notifications. Full Shopify migration is out of scope, but genuine retail functionality on a hand-coded site is absolutely on the table.
  • CRM hooks (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Mailchimp) if you've got a sales or marketing stack to feed.
  • Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Meta Pixel where relevant.

Content & copy

  • Copy-editing and headline rewriting on everything you give me. If the words don't land, the design can't save them.
  • Editorial-grade stock imagery sourced where a pro shoot isn't feasible. Direction notes if you're shooting your own photos.
  • Content migration from your existing site, with a cleanup pass so nothing rotten makes it across.
  • Handover documentation: plain-English notes on where everything lives, how to ask for changes, and what you can update yourself if you want to.

What's not included

  • A pro photography shoot. Strongly recommended for most local businesses, but coordinated separately. I can introduce you to good London photographers.
  • Long-form content writing. Blog posts, case studies, sales pages. I'll write them for you at around £75 per post if you'd rather not.
  • Paid advertising. Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok. Different specialism, happy to recommend people.

Common questions

Is the £350 really the full price?

£350 is the floor. A simple 3-5 page site for a local clinic, salon or cafe often lands exactly there or just above. A 10-page site with booking integration, content writing, and full migration is typically £1,000-1,500. You get an exact, fixed number before you commit.

What exactly does the £30 a month cover?

Four things.

  1. Hosting. Fast UK edge hosting with SSL included. No extra fee, no third-party hosting bill.
  2. Ongoing management. Any tweaks you want to the site — copy changes, new pages, image swaps, seasonal updates, a new testimonial, a fresh photo. Sensible monthly volume, not a full rebuild.
  3. Local SEO. Continued schema maintenance, citation consistency across Yell/FreeIndex/Bark/etc., Google Business Profile updates, monthly rankings check on your main keywords.
  4. Priority support. Replies within 24 hours, always from me, never a ticket system.

Rolling month to month. No minimum term. Cancel any time with one month's notice. You own the site and can take it anywhere.

How is £30/month cheaper than Wix?

Wix and Squarespace charge £15-30/month for the platform alone. You still do the updates yourself, write your own copy, and figure out the SEO. £30/month at Stagg Studio includes the hosting and a real person actually managing the site and continued SEO work. Same price, more work done.

When do I pay the one-off fee?

After you see the finished site on a preview URL and you've approved it. No deposit, no upfront payment, no invoice until you're happy. If you don't like what I've built, you don't pay. I've never had that happen in practice, but the policy stands.

Do you charge VAT?

Not currently. I'm under the VAT threshold. All prices on this page are inclusive.

Can I get a proper quote?

Yes. Send a message with what you do, roughly where you are, and what you're looking for. I reply with a specific number and timeline within 24 hours.
